Christian Life Church is a
non-denominational, full gospel, charismatic church that began as a
Bible study in May of 1983. Pastors Ken and Donna Jackson, the
founding pastors, continue to lead the church that was formally
established in January 1985 with 21 charter members. Since the church
began it has experienced steady growth with a biblical foundation.
In
August 1999 CLC completed construction of its new facility that seats
500 people. The old facility has, now, become the children and youth
building. Christian Life is a family church and world outreach center
with a vision for loving, accepting, and caring for all people. This
vision of "loving and establishing people in God's will" is being
carried out in four steps: WIN the lost, CONNECT the new convert,
DISCIPLE the believer, and SEND the leader.
In January 2004, CLC began the
transition from a traditional program-based church to a cell-based
church. The emphasis is, now, placed on the church coming together on
Sunday mornings for the Celebration Service, and being connected to
one of the cell groups (interactive Bible study) that meet throughout
the week in various homes. Wednesday nights are primarily a time for
leadership training, worship, and prayer.
CLC has contemporary, vibrant, uplifting praise and worship under the
leadership of
Donna Jackson, worship minister, and Bill and Cathy Gilmore, worship
leaders. The
uncompromising Word of God is preached and taught in all services and
the Presence and manifestation of the Holy Spirit are desired and
welcomed.
The church, also, has a growing children's ministry and a vision to
reach them with the
gospel of Jesus Christ. Trained volunteers lead this ministry on
Sunday mornings. Ministry is offered to all children ages - three
through twelve, and a nursery is provided for all services. Alex
Kontos lead the youth ministry, "Retrofit". They provide an exciting
ministry on Wednesday nights at the church, occasional special
outings, and an interactive home Bible study on Sunday nights.
The CLC congregation is very mission
minded. They support 19 foreign
missionaries and 9 home missions. This past year, (2006) the church
gave
$54365.95 into missions.
The church also features a small, but
adequately stocked, bookstore for the congregation and those in the
community. The store is open through the week and 30 minutes before
and after church services.
